A brave, honest and insightful book. The writer allows herself to be vulnerable and willing to be open to healing. I felt as if I shared the journey with her. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. "Wise Little One" is an amazing book about resilience after a devastated childhood. The heroine gives us her childhood, the abuse she suffered, mistreatment, maternal rejection... All these traumas, which could have made her sink! Instead, she got back up, time after time, with undying faith that she'll pull through! A story that will have deep resonances for all those whom life has hurt, fallen! A book that shows that we can all decide our future. I liked the optimistic tone despite the darkness of his past. I liked her rage to live, her appetite and her mystical faith, which transcended her. Read it! An act of courage and redemption, to write his confessions with such frankness. The author is filled with so much strength and certainly knows how to paint a picture. This story highlights overcoming trauma and trials, being a mother, learning to love yourself, falling in love and most of all listening to your inner child.
