Olsen, John M. Discovery. Kindle, 2022. Polecat Protocol 1.
Discovery takes place on a far-future mining rig in the asteroid belt of a distant star, but it could just as well be set in the near future in our own star system. Its characters also seem closer to home than is credible. Although its characters are all adults, it reads like a young-adult novel of the Heinleinian era. Its story is an old-fashioned space adventure that sticks close to known science and engineering. 3.5 stars. ( )
