Richelle Goodrich's poetry book "A Heart Made of Tissue Paper" is full of personal and emotional poems that the author uses to showcase her life, struggles, relationships, and feelings. Although at times the pieces felt cliche and some lacked in good wording, but overall Goodrich wrote what her heart told her too, and this is a nice little book that feels like a memoir. ( )

I enjoyed this book of poetry. There is a poem for just about about every feeling, they are well written, and quite moving. ( )

This book felt old. Not of a distant past, but a stretch of effort. It was hard to connect with and felt like it was meant to tell a story, although not written in prose. Unfortunately, if in fact a story, was disconnected and indiviualistic. Like a personnel journal of interest only to the writer. ( )

Epigraph
It seems my heart is made of tissue paper; I wish the world would handle it more delicately.
Dedication
Dedicated to my husband, Robert.
Thank you for being a gentle and faithful light during my darkness.
First words
He was always thoughtful and affectionate toward her,
and so she was a sweetheart to him.
Quotations
I was tired when I met this new man. Drained and exhausted by my past. He was a good, gentle man. He understood me because he too felt wearied by a bitter past. I gave him half what I gave you, and he said he was grateful. No criticism. No judgments. No demands. No blame. He simply saw value in my efforts. He appreciated me and kindly said so. Four years later, he still says so.

This… this is love.
