PREFACE -- WIth this book I complete my contribution to A. & C. Black's New Testament Commentaries -- Romans (1957), 1 Corinthians (1968), and now 2 Corinthians. The writing of these commentaries has occupied wat I suppose I must consider most of the best years of my life as a student of the New Testament; and I do not regret a minute of it -- though I should like to be able to go back and write Romans once again.
INTRODUCTION

I. Corinth

Corinth was situated at the south-western extremity of the isthmus that connects toe mainland of Greece with the Peloponnese.
