I was a little upset with the inaccuracies of the cause and motives of the Mexican War. It appeared to be slightly slanted to project slight anti-American sentiment. However, it also painted the first Hispanic explorers in a similar savage light as many books on early American frontiersman in relation to their interaction with Native Americans.

Great for the middle reader who wants a brief account of the various Latino cultures that influence American life. Perfect book for Hispanic Heritage Month and American History reading programs. ( )
