Tales of an upper-crust doctor's wife accompanying him on a sight-seeing safari in some pretty exotic locales in East Africa. O, the excitement she must have relayed to her socialite friends back home. Overall it is a fairly superficial look at the people and the places she visited. There are some good descriptions of wildlife and flora, for which she apparently had a passion. It was so quaint to read about all the "Mr. and Mrs. 'MistersFirstName' Whomevers" that she ran into or talked about "back home". One gets the impression of a privileged lady on a long tether. Ilka, such a lovely name.
