Hal gets captured by Russians and his crew get tortured for months. Hal can’t forgive himself since he never wears his ring when flying so he wants to rectify his mistake. Abon Sur (Abin Surs son) sends out a hit Hal take his fathers ring back (similar to that prince who was obsessed with The GLC where he’ll kill a lantern to get a ring himself). Hal defeats abon sur by a crazy twist when it turns out the bounty hunter was John Stewart the whole time. Second part is where Cowgirl and Carol fall victim to Sapphires crystal which turns them into servents of their cause of spreading love.

The issues was decent given the boring storylines on paper. John stretches how well an overdone story of Hal not having a ring can be interesting...I’m thinking about Johns character portrayal and Carol came out on top with her briefness by establishing her fearlessness quality and how calm cool and collected she can be in a fight. She’s not one to rush head first unlike Cowgirl. I didn’t like the dumb Love aliens nor their background story and I didn’t care for the second half of Hal seeking retribution for failing to save his comrades the first time around due to the rocket men being non-threatening and the villains being fodder...the tension isn’t there where he’s fighting a human, Bones, with no powers whatsoever.

Favorite parts:
-Those naked scenes
-Abon Sur being a villain. You can see his apparent weakness being obsessed with Jordan but seems to want to live up to his dads memory...I think these are good seeds for a redemption of sorts for him
-Batman refusing the yellow ring due to his willpower

Least favorite parts:
-the dumb love aliens
-rocket men
-the art is okay ( )
