The mailman is retiring and the story is about his last day on his route. He finds presents in mailboxes and everybody throws him a party to say goodbye at the end. He walks through the neighborhood talking about how long he has been there watching kids grow up, etc.

Nice pictures. Story is about a retiring mailman and all of the people on his route who love him. Not as engaging as the front cover makes it out to be--I don't think I would want to read this to my nephew. ( )

Curtis has been the mailman for many years. On his last day, everyone on his route leaves gifts for him in the mailboxes. When he gets to his house, he is surprised to find everyone on the route there to honor him.

Curtis has been a mail-man for forty-two years. On his last day, he says farewell to the friends he's made along the way. He has watched children grow up and move away, houses change, pets welcomed, and families grow. He knows his job was special because of the people he got to meet, but he didn't realize that the people he met thought he was special, too.
