Very fine and thought-provoking collection of essays, though there is some repetition between the pieces. Admirable writing, a concision and clarity only rarely encountered outside of Strunk and White. A very fine book if only for the example it sets for clear communication of thought in language. (reviewed 2005)
(updated 2008: much better than Prof. Fish's poorly thought-out Op-Ed pieces for the NY Times in 2007-2008) ( )
