Love NR and the writing itself is fine compared to other romances of the '80s but this type of romance just isn't to my taste. About 50 years outdated re the women's role from a European point of view. ( )

Two older Nora Roberts titles. From her earlier days, these are reprints from the early 80's.

Song of the west is a western/cowboy Romance. Samantha Evans is in Wyoming to help her sister, Sabrina, as Sabrina has been ordered to rest to deal with a troublesome pregnancy. Samantha abandoned her job and life to help her sister but doesn't regret her choice. They're twins and devoted to each other. Jake Tanner is the owner of the next ranch over and he sweeps her off her feet, but does she want more than he's willing to offer.

Her Mother's Keeper is the story of Gwen Lacrosse coming home to Louisiana to her mother worried at her mother's infatuation with one of her guests. She finds him very attractive herself but her life is back in New York shepherding models.

Overall both stories aren't bad but they're not the best she's ever written, something for the completist. ( )

Book description
2 contemporary romance stories by Nora Roberts: Song Of The West; and, Her Mother's Keeper.

Song of the West..The towering mountains and windswept plains called to her. But she'd never intended to stay forever until Jake Tanner stirred her emotions like a summer tornado and made it impossible for her to leave. But no man was going to seduce Samantha Evans to give up her dreams. Even a cocky cowboy who made her blood go hot..Her Mother's Keeper..She'd left town a starry-eyed innocent headed for the big city. Now Gwen Lacrosse returned home a savvy, sophisticated woman. But her mother's maddening new boarder enticed her as no one had before. Luke Powers was reputed to be an expert in both words and women and soon he was turning Gwen's cool reason into something else entirely.
