I really like this book. Not only is the story engaging and interesting, but the illustrations it beautifully and tells the story without the words. I know that the author of this book draws her pictures before writing the words and I think that this book is a great example of that. The pictures can and do tell a story without the words. However, the story written is very fascinating. It is a take on Harriet Tubman's underground railroad and what it was like to be a slave escaping during that time. The main character, similarly to the slaves, had to put all of their trust, and their lives, into Aunt Harriet's hands. ( )

Aunt Harriet's Underground Railroad in the Sky is a story about a young girl who escapes slavery by going north. She goes to find her baby brother who jumped on the train in the sky to go north with Harriet Tubman. She tells the story of her journey to freedom and all the adventures she comes across.
This is a great story to read to young learners about slavery and their journey to freedom. ( )

The illustrations in this book captures the journey To the T. Cassie is on a journey to find her brother be be. Be be enters a train full of people trying to escape slavery. As Cassie looks for her brother she follows the instructions of Harriet Tubman on the way to freedom. Harriet guided Cassie as she did the slaves escaping freedom from the South. She used landmarks, hideouts, and songs to lead Cassie to her brother the same way she did to help free slaves. ( )
