![]() No current Talk conversations about this book. Book 3 of the marvelous Bartimaeus series. Head on over to my review of Book # 1 of the Bartimaeus Sequence! My review applies to the whole series: https://www.librarything.com/work/56997/reviews/228006079 Here's the review of the prequel to the Bartimaeus sequence: https://www.librarything.com/work/9741295/reviews/228005977 A surprising and enjoyable conclusion to a great series. Something this author seems to be good at is crafting original and complex characters. Some of the stuff in this series I saw coming, but much of it I didnt and that was almost always because of characters motivations and personalities that hadnt been fully revealed up to that point. no reviews | add a review

The chapters narrated by Bartimaeus are hilarious as always, but we see a lot more of the person... eh... the djinni... behind all the sarcasm and boasting. Nathaniel, who had become dull and unlikable in the second book is the one who grows more. Kitty also plays a big role in the bittersweet resolution of the series.
Very enjoyable books! (
