I think this might be my favorite Jon Agee book with Life On Mars being a close second.
I had never even heard of Jon Agee or read any of his picture books before this “same author” assignment. At first I found the assignment challenging as I was really only familiar with Dr. Suess as being a writer of multiple children’s books. I’m so glad I found out about Jon Agee, he stands out with his illustration style and his stories are genuinely funny. I plan on incorporating all of his books into my future classroom library. ( )

The Incredible Painting of Felix Clousseau is a fun and creative book that tells a story about a genius painter who can make paintings come to life. But sometimes, this kind of talent may cause some troubles like volcanic eruption and snake come alive, which cause he was sent to prison. But finally, he became a hero because a dog from his painting catch a thief who want to steal the crown.
Media: water-colored
Use: I don’t think this book is good enough for student because there is not many heuristic meanings in this book. ( )

Chaos breaks loose when a artist's paintings come to life. Good book to use for predicting and questioning. ( )

Felix Clousseau wins an art contest after his painting mysteriously quacks. He becomes famous and continues to paint and each of his paintings come to life and cause chaos around the town. This was a very fun book that could be used to introduce art lessons. ( )

Clousseau is a Parisian painter whose pictures come alive. Everyone wants one of his works, but some of them cause problems (the portrait of a boa constrictor, for example!). The story is based on a cool concept and the ending is a fantastic surprise. It's one of those endings that makes you want to flip back to page one and start again. Black line and watercolor illustrations. Grades 2 and up.
