Il film è liberamente ispirato alle vicende vere di Paul Touvier , il collaborazionista Francese che venne processato negli anni '90 per i crimini compiuti in vece del collaborazionismo Francese di Vichy . Nella pellicola un criminale nazista alle corde è ricercato dalla polizia francese , ma questa deve fare i conti con alcuni Israeliani che hanno già da tempo decretato la condanna a morte dell'uomo .
