This is a collection of essays about the worst Christmas experiences by the authors, most involving the uncomfortable mixing of families. Contributors include Anne Patchett, Louis Bayard, Valerie Frankel and Marian Keyes. Interesting to note that over half of the essays are written by Jewish authors who celebrated Christmas as children. I don't know if that's a rarity or not, but the majority of essays here are pretty funny in that too-many-people-crammed-into-a-too-tiny-house sort of way.
Didn't finish it. The 'Hellish Holiday Tales' might be considered 'hellish', but only because they're incredibly dull. After the third completely uninteresting story and a quick flip through of the rest of the book, I decided to not even bother reading the rest.
Wanted these to be much much funnier than they were.
This book makes your most rotten holidays seem nice and normal by comparison.
