This is a collection of 9 stories, not a novel, in the tradition of Fritz Lieber's Lankhmar books. Its also similar in concept and tone to those books, but with Gary's unique D&D and Greyhawk point of view. Its actually one of the better Gord books, not all of the stories are classic sword and sorcery hack and slash - in fact, this book is a bit light on combat. Its more about the thinking aspects of adventure. Definitely worth reading for fans of D&D fiction. ( )
