Red Shifting is the first major collection in English of avant-garde St. Petersburg author Alexander Skidan's poetry and essays, translated by award-winning poets and translators Genya Turovskaya and Eugene Ostashevsky. Born in 1965, Alexander Skidan lives in St. Petersburg, Russia. The author of several books of poetry and essays, he served on the selection committee for the Andrei Bely Prize. In 1997, Skidan's book A Critical Mass was nominated for the Small Booker Prize. In 1998, he received the Turgenev Award for prose and in 1994 participated in the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. No library descriptions found. |
