This book seems to be geared for the younger kids, as it is a very basic introduction to sound. It’s very short too. I suppose that’s why the series is called “first science.” It does have some great introductory vocabulary to sound science and a lot of great pictures. It seems like it would be a great book to include during a literacy block because it is very accessible, short, creates scientific interest, and builds vocabulary. It could be really good to get all of the other books in the series and have them as a daily reading, perhaps having kids write what they learned and what they want to learn more about in their science notebooks.
