No current Talk conversations about this book. she writes terrific beginnings, but she's no good at endings. does she run out of time, or lose interest, i wonder? she is well worth reading, for her interesting characters and her great world-building, i recommend her highly really. and the Winterlong series as a whole is excellent. but every story she writes has a tendency to run down before it ends. it's a bit of a problem. Wendy Wanders and Margalis return in the thrilling conclusion of the Winterlong trilogy--and their lives hang on one question: "What is Icarus?" Araboth is destroyed, open war rules both the earth and sky, and Margalis Tast'annin sees himself as the last hope for the Ascendants as they fight against the dangerous energumens. Outside the destroyed City of Trees, Wendy Wanders finds herself joining the rebel forces as they wait for the mythical and mysterious Icarus to turn the tide of the rebellion. With the Philip K. Dick Award-nominated Icarus Descending, Elizabeth Hand completes the sensual dystopian Winterlong trilogy. And the explosive conclusion will reveal the final fates of geneslaves, the Ascendants, and the legendary combat leader Metatron as all eyes look to the sky for Icarus.
