The young girl does not want to go off to school so she tells her parents this: "Help me plan my getaway-- dig to China with a spoon, or take a rocket to the moon". She has a wild imagination. During her first day, she finds her name on the desk, plays with the class pet, plays blocks with some friends, eats lunch, and recites the alphabet. After her first day of school, she learns that school is cool and she wants to go back again tomorrow.

After the young girl learns how cool school is, she goes from missing her toys at home and having doubt in school to wanting to go back to school tomorrow. School isn't scary and this is what she learns. ( )

I really enjoyed this book! It is so cute and the rhymes are adorable. The first day for children is very nerve racking but this book makes it fun and touches on a lot of things that happens on the first day. This is a great choice to read to my students on their first day of school. ( )

A young girl describes her first day of school in this beautiful book. She starts her day excited until she gets closer to school time. The closer to school she gets, the more nervous she becomes until she realizes that school is fun. School is a fun place to learn and play with friends. ( )

This is a cute rhyming book about a child's first day of school and all the new emotions, fears, and joys that come along with it. From the child having to leave the comfort of her parent to luch and recess. She ultimately likes school by the end of the book despite hre initial doubt. ( )
