A friend (MH) sent me this book in a box of books. It reads a bit like a Hallmark Christmas movie to me.

Spence is like Scrooge in some ways--guarding his heart from hurt. In the end, he finds his heart with the help of Lucy.

Otherwise, the plot is pretty standard for Love Inspired romances. (

This story is about Spence McKaslin; the bookstore owner who refuses love and happiness, because he thinks neither will last. Along comes Lucy Chapin and with a little help from Spence's family they are spending alot of time together. Will "the scrooge" be won over by Lucy's loving ways??? Read the book and find out! (
