Written by an Academic Kabbalist related to the Baal Shem Tov and the first Lubavitcher Rebbe paired with a Kabbalist Rabbi annotator. 20 pages of intro materials, 94 pages of text, 58 pages of notes, bibliography, annotator's epilogue with its own footnotes, and an index. Lots of emphasis on woman as the receiver and transmitter of wisdom. Actual distillation of Kabbalah is only 27 pages and is as much a review of literature with a couple of teaching tales as direct information. Multicultural and anti-academic. Rabbinic commentary at end is a valuable addition. ( )
