A chance brush with death brings together aspiring lyricist Aine together with Sakuya, the leading singer and head hearthrob for the uber popular band, Lucifer.

Although I don't usually like contemporary stories Sensual Phrase has a decidedly fantastical aspect to it in that the normal, everyday girl gets caught up in the whirlwind of instant success when a cute, popular singer falls for her. Absolutely the stuff of dreams. However, this manga also dives into the darker side of this life, like homicidal groupies, over-controlling managers and the insecurities brought on by never knowing just where you stand when you're a normal gal in love with a superstar guy. Sakuya certainly seems true to life for the personality. Controlling and aggresive the only quirk he seems to have is his desire to only be with Aine to the point that he insists on using her for his video instead of the model picked to act with him. This manga certainly has very mature themes and some nudity and I would certainly say this one is for older teens and up. ( )
