Kenji finally connects the dots and as disastrous events start world-wide he is more than sure that master-mind behind these events is somebody from the elementary school gang, someone who was present during their role play game for saving the world from evil.

In the meantime old police inspector comes very close to the "Friend's" cult. Mistake that he might pay with his life.

As story broadens, it is truly magnificent how author manages to keep the story line rather well plotted and not losing the direction. Every new character introduced has its place and twists continue.

Art as with previous issues is gorgeous.

Highly recommended. ( )

Still pretty engaging, although the suspension of disbelief required is increasing over the course of the series.

I'm wondering to what degree Urasawa was influenced by Aum Shinrikyo cult and the sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway in the 1990s. ( )

Holy crap this thing is escalating fast. I think there are 10 more volumes left in this puppy, and we've already hit the "This thing just got real" point - unless we're going to get more "This thing just got real" points, in which case this is gonna be nuts. ( )

Memory is a pernicious thing. I'd like to think I have a better memory than Kenji, but that's why he's the hero with the great flaw and I'm just some lousy reader. I love "god" in this manga. Nothing beats a homeless man's obsession with bowling who also sees the future and hates being called by his nickname by all the other homeless farts. I mean, seriously, this manga is full of interesting characters and the plot just gets better and better. As a mystery, I'm just rolling in desire to know who "Friend" is. Later on, I'm gonna want to see how all these losers eventually stop the coming plague and 1 million ton robot from destroying Tokyo.

At least the stakes are funny. Um, I mean, dire.
