Boy, does this date me, but I can remember when the Frugal Gourmet was a popular cooking show on Public Television. I like the variety of his international cookbook. It doesn't just have the usual suspects such as German, Indian, Irish, Japanese, Mexican, Russian, Thai but Armenian, Basque, Cambodian, Filipino, Hawaiian, Korean, Puerto Rican, etc. A fun book to read and to cook from. Includes 50+ pages of information on cooking terms, herbs, etc. Then recipes from Armenian & Basque to Welsh & Yugoslavian. Mexican and Spanish are both represented.

Good, traditional recipes made the traditional way. Some I find require a little additional seasoning, but most of the recipes seem authentic and are not difficult. ( )

The Frug's cookbooks are at once great recipe collections and great reading. The warmth of his writing style is infectious and his passion for both food and ethnic traditions is sufficient to warm any heart. ( )
