Elizabeth MacPherson finds herself on a remote Scottish island investigating a stone ring with a group of amateur archeologists. When an unexpected injury occures, a series of events follows which leaves two of the party dead and the rest ill. Thee resolution is satisfying. ( )

Fast, interesting mystery! I will have to look for the rest of the series, I believe this was #4, but I didn't really feel like I was missing anything as their was plenty of current explanation about the relationship of the main character and her boyfriend. ( )

Aspiring forensic anthropologist Elizabeth MacPherson is off to Scotland for the summer, such as it is there, to assist on an archeological dig that will put her just a boat ride away from her boyfriend, marine biologist Cameron Dawson. They struggle to understand each other, but romantic concerns take a backseat when Elizabeth’s expedition is threatened by mysterious accidents, illnesses, and deaths. Cut off from the outside world, can Elizabeth survive until Cameron’s next visit? A highly entertaining tale with a surprising ending. ( )

They mystery was better this time, and Elizabeth was more believable. Ms. McCrumb played around with telling the story from different view points, which was somewhat interesting. Not sure if it worked entirely but it made a change. I am getting interested in what will happen to Elizabeth next. ( )

I loaned her eight guidebooks of Scotland, and all the maps I had, but she only looked at the castles and the picture of the mountains, bare against the sky.
