Good source to pick and choose poems from, perhaps for read-alouds or group assignments.

These poems would be good to use when talking about the earth and/or the environment. These can be used in any class, if read aloud, if students are expected to read them it would be best for third grade or on.

This book is a collection of poems from poets such as Shel Silverstein, Margaret Wise Brown, X.J. Kennedy, and Eve Merriam. It is all about the many wonderful things there are on this planet, and it is sure to spark students appreciation for this world. Water color illustrations add to the beauty of this text. I would recommend this book to 3rd-5th graders. ( )
