Rebecca York - Berkley Publishig Group - Edge of the Moon
This book was much better than the first in the series. We were given more details about the characters and had a fuller scope of their feelings in this book. The book centers around Kathryn Reynolds who tenent is missing. She calls in to report it and comes in contact for the first time with Jack Thornton a cop. They go on a wild journey through sharing dreams and defending themselves against a magician who is hell bent on owning a demon. He decides to use Jack and Kathryn in his plan to take ownership of the demon. By the way, he also happens to be a serial killer. It is an exciting ride through the sick mind of a killer and the paranormal world that the demon inhabits. ( )

This story included Jack Thornton, detective from first book, and Kathryn as a new character. I was held captive with this book as well, as Kathryn and Jack race againist time to save innocent victim at that had of a mad man trying to evoke a demon. The demon is speaking to Jack though dreams to try and save himself. I love the books by Rebecca York. Can't wait to read the next one. ( )

Horrible. The storyline was awkward and confusing. I have a feeling that York really wanted to use Detective Jack Thornton in a story, but couldn't figure out how his story might feature a werewolf, so she just came up with this weird, convoluted plot that had absolutely nothing to do with werewolves at all. The whole thing seemed forced.

Also, after two books I think I've decided I officially don't like Rebecca York's dialogue. Again, it all sounded forced and fake. Yes, this IS a fiction book, so of course the dialogue is fake. BUT a good writer should make the dialogue sound believable...like it could actually have come from a real person...no matter what the situation is. This just didn't. It seemed very amateurish and unrealistic.

I have the third in the series already, but I am really hesitating even starting it. I'm getting the feeling that Rebecca York just isn't my thing. ( )

While this is in the Moon series, it's not a werewolf story, except that the hero from Killing Moon does make an appearance. Nevertheless, it's again an excellent story, this time about a magician who's trying to summon a "demon", which ends up being a being from another universe/realm/whathaveyou. The only thing I felt wasn't fully explained was why/how the demon fixated on the h/h. ( )
