A collection of science fiction stories by women from the 1940s to the 1970s. They include Pamela Zoline's The Heat Death of the Universe, on the entropic decline of the universe, Anne McCaffrey's The Ship Who Sang, in which a ship falls in love with its pilot, and Kit Reed's The Food Farm, a horror story about pop music, mass communication and food.… (more)
I really liked this! Its a collection of short stories written by female science fiction writers betwen the 40's and 70's. Even though I read a lot of sf and have a strong interest in female writers, several of these were still new to me. Almost all of them were really strong stories, and I enjoyed Pamela Sargent's introduction and notes too.
Why do I not read more short fiction? I usually like it, and yet somehow I forget to look for anthologies. Thanks for recommending this Sarah Pi! ( )
