Commodore Grimes' wife Sonya is off on a cruise and Grimes gets out from behind his desk and is sent to fix problems on three worlds. Three worlds that he had surveyed back in the day and on which he had played a significant part. He is back to solve current problems and does so handily. Nice to revisit some of the indigenes of older books. Kinsolving's Planet and Clarissa, granddaughter of the original cave man Raul. The pearl fishers of Mellisan. I really liked the first story where Clarissa is being brought back to her grandfather's planet to raise God and she does but not the God the Neo-Calvinists are hoping for...
