Just as the title says, her puppy is born, This shows a fair amount of detail so if you are preparing for puppies in your own home and would like to introduce this topic with visuals to your child, it is a good option.

A little girl is waiting for the neighbors dogs to be born because they are going to let her have one. When the mother dog is giving birth she has to work all her muscles to push the dogs out. The puppies are born in a thin sac and the mother tears open the sac, then licks them clean. After that it is a long process they have to wait for the puppies to grow because they can't see or hear and the mother has to feed them. I really like this book because it shows the process of how dogs are born and everything it takes for them to be able to do things on their own it is a really interesting book. ( )

This book tells of the birth of a puppy. It starts when the girl finds out the mother puppy is pregnant. The next thing that happens is the mother puppy gives birth to the baby puppies, she bites the umbilical chord and bites away the sack the puppy is born in. After giving birth she nurses them till they can take care of themselves. ( )

The little girls neighbor's dog is about to have puppies and she is getting one. This book goes through to explain the pregnancy of a dog, the birth of a puppy, and how the puppies grow. She can't take her puppy home with her until its old enough to leave her mother. The puppy leave the mother when her eyes open, ears open, she can eat on her own, and is able to walk. This is a great book to read to children when talking about where puppies come from. This book teaches them all they need to know about a puppy being born and growing up. ( )
