I understand the pedagogy behind the controlled vocabulary, but I still don't enjoy reading such constrained texts, especially when the words are repeated so much. ( ) Great fun for Level One early readers. It reminded me of [a:Mo Willems|33274|Mo Willems|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1199684071p2/33274.jpg]'s Elephant and Piggy series, but the humor was a little quieter (imo) and the relationship interactions not quite as poignant. Insightful, with adventure and irony as well as laughs - I wish I was four years old again. I also wish my library had more in the series. We'll see if the ILL requests come in. And thank you Amy for reviewing these & alerting me to them. no reviews | add a review
