This is the first of the series that I've read. According to some, this is the worst of the three. I liked it. The brooding Ivan was interesting. Chauvinistic. Egotistical. So like many successful black men I know. Nayo was a cute quirky young woman who wasn’t intimidated by Ivan. With her diminutive size she stood up to him and smoothed out his personality. Without her, Ivan wouldn’t have been likable.

This wasn’t the best book by Alers that I’ve read, but I enjoyed it. ( )
