Out-dated book about the food pyramid. A cat, the host of a restaurant called 'The Edible Pyramid' introduces a group of animals, the guests, to the concept of portions of food according to the food pyramid.
It can be used as a picture book

I liked this book for children for a few reasons. I like the fact that it teaches about the food pyramid and healthy choices without them even realizing you are learning anything. The book is written out to be like a story where a restaurant is having it grand opening and the owner is describing the menu to his customers. I also enjoyed the illustrations. The pictures were fun and colorful and they include a lot of animals. ( )

A fun introduction to eating right! Each page has lot of examples of foods that fall into the main food groups, plus helpful tips for estimating servings. It also stresses the importance of exercising. This is a great health book, but the food pyramid has been updated since this book was published, so it shouldn't be used as a primary guide.

This represents an Informational Book because it includes verifiable and accurate information. It includes facts and teaches the reader about the different categories of the food pyramid, as well as the how to estimate food servings. The media used was acrylic. The information is presented within a story, which is where we see an understatement. They are talking about the different categories of food and when they get to the sweets, or oils, section they say to not eat many sweets otherwise you may gain too much weight. The way it is said makes it an understatement. This would be best for the Primary grades.

This is an excellent example of an informational book because it states important facts correctly and in a logical way.
Since this is an informational book, it is not possible to critique the plot, setting, or characters. ( )
