The Seventh Scroll is another fascinating story written by Wilbur Smith. This story talking about history, adventure and some crime in Egypt country . This time it is set in contemporary and colorful Egypt, England and Ethiopia. An Arabian archeologist Duraid Al Simma together with his wife, an archeology doctor herself, the fate of pharaohs chased by aggressors from the Nile delta up to the main continent.
The seventh scroll written in the most secret and symbolic language is indicating the pharaoh Mamose burial place. An undiscovered tomb of the pharaoh is an incredible temptation for the scientists, but also for arts collectors and tomb robbers. When Duraid is murdered his wife, Royan, takes the chance to find the lost pharaoh tomb and to finish the work she had began with her late husband.
An English aristocrat, art collector and adventures seeker, Nicholas Quenton-Harper lends her a helping hand They leave together for Ethiopia where according to the scroll, in the Blue Nile valley chasm the pharaoh Mamose tomb should be hidden. Unfortunately, Herr von Schiller, a mad and paying no attention to the costs maniac of ancient art also starts his quest. The plot is speeding up and the search for the remains of old civilization soon becomes a deadly race between the competing treasure hunters.
Written in a colorful and strong language the book is not only describing the adventure of heroes but also the places which they visit, culture, customs and casual life of its inhabitants.
This story is quite good but for me it is have some boring and I didn’t like it well. I prefer to see the movie because it more interesting.
