Thsi is the bound Hearts Series Book number 9 'The Club' (Bound Hearts series) is for men who 'like to share their women'. It is a 'ménage club' for m/f/m. It provides a pool of single thirds from which the married men can chose a 'third' to bring into their beds. The Club was formed for 'the protection of the women', both their reputations (though secrecy) and physically. One rule is informed consent. Another is that once a man has claimed a woman as his, no other club member can touch her (presumably without permission). Dual, simultaneous penetration is the goal, and is referenced as providing more pleasure than imaginable and being a dark or wild desire. Some explanation is given for why the men have this need/desire/hunger to share. (In this volume, previous sexual abuse creates a need for emotional distancing in the hero. He is using the third -- his twin brother -- to keep himself somewhat apart. "The temptation to feel was the basis of the sharing." In the end, the relationship becomes monogamous. I have the impression that this is unusual for this series -- the monogamy and the abuse origins -- and maybe this type of book. I think this might make it more acceptable for general romantica/romance readers.) Rules seem to exist about what the third can and can't do with the woman. I think the primary sets the rules, although the woman can also set limits. The man who brings/claims the woman is faithful to her in that he never sleeps with another woman. The two males never interact with each other. The female is described as sharing her pleasure with the third, but only the primary gets her love, and generally her focus. Sadism is described as being 'depravity'. WOW, read Only Pleasure first then Wicked Pleasure. Great read. Realy enjoy Lora style of writing. TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTING. I'VE HAD THIS BOOK ON PRE-ORDER FOREVER AND WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT AFTER FORBIDDEN PLEASURES. THE HERO'S SUPPOSEDLY TRAUMATIZED STATE IS UNLIKELY CONSIDERING HIS HIGH SEXUALITY. THE HEROINE'S CONFLICT WITH A U.S. CONGRESSMAN AND HIS WIFE IS RATHER ASSININE AND HOKEY. THE CONGRESSMAN AND WIFE'S BEHAVIOR CHANGES SO MUCH AT THE END OF THE BOOK THAT IT IS UNREALISTIC AND UNBELIEVABLE. LORA LEIGH'S BURNING, SCALDING MENAGE SCENES ARE EVEN UNORIGINAL AND SOMEWHAT WILTED. SHE IS ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITE ROMANTICA AUTHORS........BUT SHE MUST HAVE HAD A LOT OF BAD DAYS AT THE BLACK ROCK WHILE COMPOSING THIS ONE. no reviews | add a review
