The official, classic, definitive history of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps and the Women's Army Corps during World War II. Treadwell was a WAC officer during the war. This is the first source any researcher should go to to get the straight facts on dates, happening, units, statistics, and official facts. Although some critics claim that because this is an officially sponsored history it is somewaht sanitized - it is extremely well documented and can start a researcher off on the right trail of information, even if one is looking for the straight scoop on problems women faced.
