World War II was the bloodiest and broadest conflict ever. From 1939 to 1945, the world went to arms as leaders in Germany, Japan, and Italy tried to dominate the globe. Learn how these brutal dictatorships were stopped, and how the war changed the world.

This book is a historical non fiction on the ten greatest battles of World war II. The battles mentioned in this book are; battle of France, battle of Britain, Pearl Harbor, Battle of the Atlantic, Stalingrad, Midway, Invasion of Normandy, battle of the Bulge, battle of Berlin, and Okinawa. I picked this book out of a scholastic book catalog and I have really enjoyed having it. All of the battles mention who won, how it started, and who the commander was of every army that fought in the battle. This book gives great background knowledge for world war II and all of the major battles.
I think that this book will be great for the classroom. It doesn't have a story line is is more of a factual book but still i think that students will enjoy it because it gives very interesting facts. When beginning to talk about world war II in class this book would be great to show when you as a teacher come to each battle mentioned in the book.
This book is great, and like i said it is mostly factual and doesn't exactly tell a story therefore i didn't think I would enjoy it but I really did. I also learned a few things about these battles that I did not know.
