This is one of the most popular books in our library. It's a smallish book, chunky, and glossy-paged. Each country's flag is shown against a clean modern layout. Listed facts about the country keep the text from overpowering the visual appeal of the flag itself.

This resource is 192 pages of colour and information that makes flags appealing to all readers, particularly students needing information on countries of the World. By seperating this book into logical sections of the World, the author helps readers better understand where the different countries are and put that knowledge into perspective. Sylvie Bednar is not a historian, she is a designer who was inspired by her travels as a designer, the designs on the flags and her interest in learning about the different countries she visits. The information shared is current, relevant and interesting while the pages are colourful. ( )
