Evie Carson returns to her family home after an ugly divorce. One night, while sitting in her childhood treehouse, she is horrified to see a mentally-challenged neighbor burying the body of her childhood best friend underneath the tree. The next day, his body is also found. Thus unwinds a series of murders and southern charmed mayhem.....
I could not put this book down! This is one of the best mysteries I have read in a long while. It is full of unexpected twists and turns. There were several times I thought I knew the murderer, but I was wrong!
I love Southern Fiction and I love a good mystery. This one does not disappoint. I love the fact that this author gets to the point and doesn't get bogged down in unnecessary details. Characters are well-rounded and believable. The ending is a real shocker.
I highly recommend this book. It's perfect for a dreary day (or night). Grab a blankie and cozy up. You will not be disappointed. ( )

After divorcing her high-powered attorney husband, Evie Carson moves back to her small-town Georgia home to start a fashion boutique. As she walks the family farm reminiscing about her childhood, she climbs into the tree house her dad built for her. To Evie’s surprise, she sees Jake, a mentally-challenged childhood friend carrying a naked body and a shovel. She looks down in silent horror as he buries the body, which turns out to be her best friend Denise, whom she hasn’t seen in years.

Evie reports the crime, and when Jake is found dead the next day, everyone is stunned and afraid there’s a serial killer on the loose. Now Evie is being stalked by someone who can apparently enter her house at will. Does the killer think she knows too much? And, can she really trust Lyle, the handsome state trooper assigned to protect her?

Great plot that keeps you guessing. More about relationships than graphic violence. Highly recommend. ( )
