It made everything come to together so nicely and was a such a fast paced read. ( ) I'm being very generous giving this a 3 stars. I did not like this book at all but maybe that's because I'm not in the age range the target audience for this book falls under. I wasn't much of a reader when I was a kid so I never got around to reading Alice in Wonderland when I was younger. If I had read this book when I was a kid maybe I would have liked it, I don't know. However reading it now, the story didn't interest me at all and the characters were too annoying, especially Alice. Checking this classic off my summer reading list. Did children love reciting verse once upon a time? Carroll includes so many rhymes that it must have been so. The original illustrations are delightful, and so 3 stars. But I'm sure I was never the intended audience. How children's literature has changed. Alice in Wonderland was a good read, but not something that kept me hooked on. For a novel created way back when by Lewis Carroll, I find it to be a wonderful read. The book has good themes that I liked picking out here and there. The novel wasn't action packed, but it is a child's novel and an older novel at that. I did enjoy the book, but it isn't something I would read over and over for the sake of enjoyment. I enjoyed it though! I read this book because I have seen many television and movie adaptions of this book and I wanted to read the material all of it was based on. Very good but not my style, personally. Two out of five stars. no reviews | add a review
