A large book touching on many areas of knotting and focussing on techniques for the more decorative side of knotting. The book illustrates the knots through photographs rather than drawings -- in some cases this doesn't work well where patterned cord or a bad choice of colours are used it can be hard to work out what is going on. As well, the photo editing has sometimes cropped out parts of the edge of the knots and shadows can often be mistaken for strands. That said, the book has hundreds show more of these photos so it would be much to expect perfection and for the cost to stay reasonable. This may be frustrating for the aspiring beginner, but in any case you'd need to be an experienced knotter to achieve some of the projects in this book (in which case you may relish the extra challenge). For us beginners, it is a lavish book showing what is possible, with some interesting history and background -- and some beautiful projects to work up to. show less
