Psychological Evaluations for the Courts, Third Edition: A Handbook for Mental Health Professionals and Lawyers by Gary B. Melton
The seminal treatise on the interface of law and psychology, this work should be on the book shelf anyone who works in mental health law or forensic psychology.
I have purchased all three editions as they have come out, and Melton et. al. continue their superb work in this edition.
It should be noted, however, that this is a dense work to say the least and clearly geared toward a specific audience - graduate students or practicing professionals. I believe the level of breadth and depth in show more this book is a bit much for a lay audience or undergraduates. No such much because its hard to grasp, as it is not; rather, the level of detail with regard to the subject matter is beyond what a casual reader would need or likely desire. show less
