This book was not what I was expecting. With a title of 'Complete Japanese Joinery' I was expecting an in depth look at joining and joinery techniques practiced by carpenters and other woodworkers practiced in Japan. Half the book was actually about Japanese construction techniques. which considering most of the joinery was in how to join larger building size lumber shouldn't be too surprising.
Overall it was a well written book and the subjects flowed fairly well from topic to topic. It is show more also noticeable that it was written with an Eastern mindset not a Western one. Don't ask me how I explain that statement either. Very interesting piece of work. show less
