In a future where planned obsolescence, consumerism, and electronic waste are elevated to a religion, a small group of rebels recruits an engineer to show the masses that the capitalist brainwashing of buying "new, new, new!" is nothing but a hoax. Aside from the stereotypical baffled and feckless housewife so common in stories of this time, the story was prescient and masterfully written.
