This will certainly get your heart racing. The characters are well fleshed out, and the story moves along smoothly at a decent pace. The descriptions were very vivid, but at times it felt like there wasn’t enough room left for the reader’s imagination to fill in gaps. That said, as a horror fan I really enjoyed reading this, supernatural elements and all. Although some settings have achieved trope status (like the mental institution), a unique enough spin is put on it that they feel show more almost new. If you enjoy horror and occult fiction, you’re going to truly enjoy this book. show less

There is a lot going on in this book and parts of it reminded me a bit of Firestarter, but with more supernatural meat on it's bones and less sci fi. The characters are complex and Nate especially has been through the wringer of changes from a drug addicted past to unlikely hero. Lifting the veil between worlds may sound like the quickest path to wealth, power, and all that your heart desires but there is a heavy price to pay and the debt is past due. O. M. G. Settle in to read one AMAZING story! Get plenty of popcorn and soda pop as this will be a long and bumpy ride as we follow Frank Clayton's incredible tale! Kill Zone has an END OF THE WORLD feel to it and I SURE don't to be ALIVE if this his how it will be, but I was proud of how Frank handle himself. I can't say anymore as I don't want to give the plot away, but the novel is WELL WORTH the money readers pay!
