An earnest account of codes in the Bible, from the "Bible codes" (equidistant letter sequences) popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s, to what Missler calls "macrocodes" and "metacodes." Missler begins with an easy-to-understand intro to cryptography and codes. He then looks at acrostics, like YHWH in letter skips in Esther (pp. 81ff.). He then moves on to equidistant letter sequences (ELS), the "Bible codes" popularized, and perhaps sullied, by Michael Drosnin. Missler's treatment is show more second to Jeffrey Satinover's, I'd say, and he leans more towards the Yeshua code types of codes uncovered by Yacov Rambsel (and Grant Jeffrey). Missler tries to distance himself from Drosnin's "hey I found this word encoded," stating, rather (chaps. 11-13), that coded words should be found in verses that somehow are relevant to the coded words. It's an interesting idea. "Macrocodes" are what other people call "types," like Isaac is a type of Christ (pp. 189ff.). Or bewildering things (what secularists would call coincidences or pareidolia) like the Israelite encampments in the wilderness are in the shape of a cross (pp. 211-213). The numerous sevens in the Bible and multiples of sevens strewn throughout Missler declares are codes put in there by the Author Himself. All-in-all, it's an interesting and odd book, a compendium of snippets and facts in the Bible, codes and numbers and codes, that serve as an apologetic for believers and a series of silly coincidences for unbelievers.
Mr. Missler recently passed, and he apparently had some troubles with plagiarism in his career (including in this book, in the holograms section). So, take this all with a grain of salt. show less

This book is full of surprises - hidden messages, encryptions, misspellings, the rule of 7, etc in the text of the Bible, demonstrating a skilful design originating from outside our space & time. There is nothing trivial or irrelevant in the Bible. Every detail in Scripture is there by design and ultimately points to Jesus. Very interesting. Recommended read :)
Chuck has a unique style of exposition and has done TV presentations as well as "Learn the Bible in 24 Hours" being available in various media. You can almost hear his voice as you read through the book. Chuck has some interesting "insights" to the Scriptures, you may not agree with some of the views expressed but they are certainly thought provoking and well worth considering. He brings a refreshing exegesis to the Word of God.

Is it possible to continue to have faith in God when He allows everything in your life to crumble and fall apart? Would a loving Father allow such devastating circumstances to happen in the lives of his children? "This is a practical guidebook (and prayer journal) as to what we are to do if we find ourselves in similar circumstances.
