I like this book because it reminds me of how silly children can be when dealing with people with disabilities. This book was so sweet, I love how after the mother explains that his condition isn't contagious he makes friends. I would use this to introduce to children that disabilities aren't contagious and that it's important not to judge people who have them.
Danny is a child with cerebal palsy. He goes to the park and meets a young girl; his mother has to explain to her that what he has is not contagious. This is a great book to teach children that there are some disablities that people have that aren't harmful to others.
