In the Woods is a great book for readers with a little bit of reading experience, but who are mostly still learning to read. This book has large print and enough space at the bottom of the page for beginning readers to place their finger below each word as they read along. It also has a predictable structure: the story is eight pages long, and only one word changes on each page (until the last page, which has two sentences on it instead of one). Another wonderful thing about this book is show more that it has actual photographs of woods, snakes, rabbits, and other forest animals. Many kids would love that! I would use this book with advanced kindergarten readers and first graders. show less
