Mark Buehner grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, the youngest of seven children. His parents and teachers recognized his artistic talent early on, and their encouragement motivated him to excel at his craft. His ability to produce paintings rich in imagination, emotion, and color has earned him a host of honors, including the Parents' Choice Award, the Children's Choice Award, the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award, the Society of Illustrators Silver Medal, and many more. Mr. Buehner has illustrated such beloved children's books as Christmas Day in the Morning, by Pearl S. Buck, and The Adventures of Taxi Dog, by Debra and Sal Barracca, and he has collaborated with his wife, Caralyn, on several others, including Snowmen at Night, Fanny's Dream, and Superdog, a New York Times bestseller.
